Construction Contract Signed for the First Blue Cosmo 52 Soft Top

Construction Contract Signed for the First Blue Cosmo 52 Soft Top
Cosmo Marine has signed a construction contract with Turkish yacht manufacturer Berke Marine for the building of the first-ever Blue Cosmo 52 Soft Top. This project marks a significant milestone in the development of the Blue Cosmo 52 series, bringing the modular cruiser concept to full realization through its first physical build.
The yacht is being constructed at Berke Marine’s production facility in Yalova, Turkey, where the shipyard will undertake the entire scope of work, including construction, outfitting, and testing. With years of experience in composite yacht building, Berke Marine brings proven production expertise to the project, ensuring that the design intent is translated into a high-quality, fully realized vessel.
Serving as a Reference Platform
As the first yacht in the upcoming Blue Cosmo 52 series, the Soft Top variant plays a vital role beyond being a single production unit. This premier yacht is intended to serve as a reference platform—showcasing Cosmo Marine’s design capabilities, validating key design decisions, and providing real-world data to support the future development of the Blue Cosmo 52 series.
Through this build, the design will be physically verified and refined where necessary to achieve the best possible results. Hull form performance will be evaluated based on actual sea trial results, while ergonomic solutions and material choices will be assessed under real operational conditions. The insights gained from this process will directly inform subsequent yachts in the series, establishing a solid benchmark for quality, performance, and the on-board experience.

The Soft Top Concept
The Blue Cosmo 52 Soft Top is designed to address the common limitations found in open cruiser designs—specifically exposure to sun and rain—while preserving the defining joys of open-deck living. By introducing an integrated soft-top awning, the design significantly extends usability across different seasons and weather conditions.
The concept is rooted in balance: maintaining the open cruiser’s connection to the sea while providing shaded areas and the option to retreat into a climate-controlled space if desired. Guests can enjoy the openness of the main deck without compromise, while still benefiting from enhanced protection and comfort during a long day in the sun.

Enhanced Below-Deck Comfort and Performance-Oriented Design
Below deck, the Blue Cosmo 52 Soft Top distinguishes itself from many traditional open cruisers. The layout offers enhanced overall comfort, supported by clear deck heights that allow occupants to stand comfortably in all areas of the lower deck—a feature not commonly found in this segment.
The hull form has been optimized to deliver superior seakeeping performance compared to typical open cruisers, ensuring a more stable and confident experience at sea. Combined with a sophisticated interior arrangement, this makes the yacht perfectly suited not just for day trips, but also for extended stays and overnight stays at anchor.
The Soft Top variant is designed for owners who seek the pleasures of open-deck cruising without sacrificing below-deck comfort, preferring to stay at anchor in a quiet bay rather than returning to the marina, and enjoying a night immersed in nature with a direct connection to the marine environment.
Construction Progress and Next Steps
Construction of the Blue Cosmo 52 Soft Top is progressing steadily. The composite hull and structures are complete, and the installation of the main engines and generators has been finalized. Production of the interior furniture is currently underway, while preparations for the painting phase have begun.
Launch and sea trials are scheduled for Spring, marking the next major phase of the project and a critical step toward validating the yacht’s performance and design goals.
As the first-of-its-kind version advances, Cosmo Marine will continue to share updates, providing further insight into the development of the Blue Cosmo 52 Soft Top and the broader vision behind the series.
“The first-of-its-kind Blue Cosmo 52 Soft Top is a key step in validating our design philosophy. This construction allows us to translate ideas into reality, testing performance and comfort under real conditions, and refining every detail to ensure the uncompromising quality that will define the entire Blue Cosmo 52 series.”
